## Improve the paste experience

When you trigger a paste action on Clipsync web (for example when you press one of your configured keyboard shortcuts) the app attempts to read from the device clipboard so it can sync the contents up to the cloud.

Firefox only allows a browser extension to read directly from the clipboard, not a web app. This extension simply listens for a request from the web app and returns the latest clipboard item to Clipsync.

For security, the extension is only enabled for the Clipsync web app ( [clipsync.io](https://clipsync.io/)).

Safari does not allow reading directly from the clipboard at all, even with an extension. If you do not need custom keyboard shortcuts, you can turn on "Use system paste" in Settings and use the system keyboard shortcut (Cmd+v) to paste to Clipsync.
